THE PROJECT.

Silk One is set to transform Stanley Street in Brisbane’s blossoming Woolloongabba. In an area of Brisbane rich in infrastructure projects and standing alongside the world-renowned sporting ground ‘The Gabba’, Silk One is redefining expectations of what’s possible for inner-city living.

Consisting of three towers and rising over twenty stories, one unique aspect of this development is the roof top ‘Sky Stand’ which provides residents with a birds-eye view inside the iconic stadium.

The Approach.

Paying homage to the area’s rich commercial and semi-industrial cultural heritage was our starting point for the brand. However, with all the new infrastructural upgrades (over $5.4 billion worth) and redevelopment, it was important to create a brand that reflected a modern era.

At the core of the brand, the typography references the industrial days of old, when signs were delicately crafted and painted by hand. Whilst the logo presents a new and modern idea, one of rejuvenation in the area and one of excitement.

Modern Industrial Chic.

The expansive Sales Office was designed to invite buyers on a journey through Woolloongabba’s past. Frank and Mimi were commissioned to create a mural that leveraged the rich industrial heritage.

Stretching the entire wall, the hand painted typography and layers of texture references became the backdrop to the sleek modern finishes and angles of the office interior.

A unique perspective.

Every touchpoint is connected through the use of the black and white portrait and grounded by the strong visual language.

The campaign was rolled out across digital, print and outdoor platforms as well as signage, hoarding and the display office establishing Silk One as the defining development within Woolloongabba.
